MG-PROMO-LINE

THE FUTURE OF THREAD MILLING STARTS NOW

What if high-precision thread mills could be manufactured significantly more cost-effectively – without compromising on quality or precision?
With our new MG-PROMO-LINE, we are taking a new approach to tool manufacturing. A new production technology transforms a crucial part of the conventional manufacturing process, enabling significant cost savings without compromising on quality or precision.

A NEW APPROACH TO MANUFACTURING

In the conventional manufacturing of a thread mill, the production process begins with a round solid carbide blank. To create the final tool geometry, a significant amount of valuable carbide must be removed through extensive grinding operations. This takes time, causes wear on the grinding wheels and results in correspondingly high manufacturing costs.

The MG-PROMO-LINE takes a different approach from an earlier stage in the manufacturing process.

Instead of a conventional round blank, we use a specially preformed solid carbide blank whose contour is already much closer to the final geometry of the thread mill. As a result, significantly less material and excess carbide need to be removed during the subsequent grinding process.

This transforms the entire manufacturing process: less material removal, shorter grinding times, reduced grinding wheel wear and less grinding dust. At the same time, machine time and overall production effort are reduced.

The key point:

We reduce manufacturing effort while maintaining the highest level of precision.

UP TO 70% LESS GRINDING TIME*

The preformed tool contour eliminates many rough grinding operations.

SAVE UP TO 50% ON COSTS*

Reduced machine time and lower wear cut manufacturing costs – resulting in savings of up to 50%, which we pass directly on to you.

UP TO 30% LESS MATERIAL REMOVAL*

Less valuable solid carbide needs to be removed – depending on the tool type.

REDUCED GRINDING WHEEL WEAR

Geringerer Verbrauch an Schleifscheiben verlängert deren Standzeit und reduziert Ihren Aufwand.

LESS GRINDING DUST

Reduced impact on people, machines and the environment.

SUSTAINABLE MANUFACTURING

Lower energy consumption and a more resource-efficient manufacturing process.

We currently use the new MG-PROMO-LINE manufacturing technology for our TMC and TMCM thread mills in sizes M1 to M16.

The corresponding tools and technical details can be found in our Katalog on page 149 for TMC and page 170 for TMCM.

But this is just the beginning. We are already working on extending the use of preformed solid carbide blanks to additional tool types and sizes.

Our goal is clear: to gradually extend the benefits of this manufacturing technology to an even broader range of tools – more cost-effectively, with greater resource efficiency, and without compromising on precision.

AMB 2026 – Thank You for All the Great Encounters!

Five intensive days at AMB in Stuttgart are behind us – filled with many face-to-face meetings, interesting conversations and new ideas.

Our newly introduced technology for the more cost-effective production of high-precision tools attracted particular interest. By using preformed blanks, the amount of grinding required can be significantly reduced – enabling high-quality precision tools to be manufactured much more efficiently and cost-effectively.

The response from our customers and partners to this approach was very positive. This reinforces our commitment to continuously developing this technology. Especially in an increasingly competitive market, we see significant potential in this approach: reducing production costs without compromising on precision or quality can be a decisive factor in helping CNC manufacturers remain competitive in the future.

We are taking many new ideas and insights home from Stuttgart and look forward to continuing the conversations we started and working together on new projects.

Thank you for a successful AMB 2026 – and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
