Swiss Line – Indexable Inserts for Swiss-Type Lathes
The Swiss Line has been specifically developed to meet the requirements of modern Swiss-type lathes.
The product range includes precision indexable inserts and matching tool holders for a wide variety of turning operations. High-quality carbide substrates, advanced coating technologies and a well-engineered tooling system ensure high precision and reliable machining performance. Various insert geometries as well as right-hand and left-hand versions are available to suit different machining applications. In addition to standard solutions, the Swiss Line also offers custom inserts manufactured according to customer drawings.

High-Quality Carbide Grade
The inserts are manufactured from high-quality carbide grades produced from premium raw materials in accordance with ISO standards. They provide consistently reliable metallurgical properties and meet the stringent requirements for precision and tight tolerances in metal cutting applications.
Standard geometries are manufactured on BLA4 insert blanks. The same geometries are also available on thicker BLA6 insert blanks or extended BLA4Long versions upon request.
Advanced Coating Technologies
Different coatings are available to suit a wide range of workpiece materials and machining requirements:
- TiN – proven PVD coating for steel, cast iron and brass
- TiAlN (HDP TiAL EXON) – universal coating, the first choice for stainless steel
- XTiAlN (HDP STAR4) – designed for machining titanium and superalloys
- K20 – uncoated grade available, depending on the application
Each coating undergoes a multi-stage process including cleaning, surface preparation, coating and final inspection to ensure consistently high quality.
Matching Tool Holders and Accessories
The system is complemented by compatible tool holders for various shank sizes, as well as recommended accessories including screws, Torx keys and torque screwdrivers. Screws and Torx keys are supplied with each tool holder. Standard tool holders are designed for indexable inserts with a thickness of 4 mm. Versions for 6 mm inserts, as well as tool holders with larger shank sizes or extended lengths, are available upon request.
